CID submits report; Decision on EAMCET imminent

The CID, which reportedly confirmed the Eamcet-2 leakage and took the kingpin and his accomplices into custody, has submitted its report to Director General of Police Anurag Sharma.

In his turn, the DGP apprised the Government of the entire episode on Thursday and a decision is imminent, it is learnt. EAMCET-II rankers, most of whom are girls, stated in anguish that they have got ranks in 100s and cannot afford for another round of examination if the State government cancels the Eamcet-2. However, the Government still remained inconclusive on the issue.

Rankers meet Home Minister

Later, rank students met Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy at Secretariat and urged him not to scrap the Eamcet-2. Speaking at media point at Secretariat, the parents pleaded with the government not to cancel the Eamcet-2 as their wards got the best ranks. “We are elated on the ranks achieved by our children, who are to get seats in noted colleges”, they said. They also demanded that the government should abstain from taking any steps scrapping the Eamcet-2. “Cancellation of the exam will mar the future of our children”, they bemoaned. They also expressed displeasure at the leakage of examinations which is watering down their hopes of better future.

Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has expressed solidarity with the protesting students and sought that the government take a right decision. The government should settle the issue by an amicable decision that will not hamper the rank students, he said. (NSS)
