Claiming that the last ruler of Hyderabad state and the officials of the state administration possessed progressive mentality, Prof. Chukka Ramaiah former MLC said that Hyderabad state owes its development to Asif Jah VII and his state administration who by implementing democracy within kingship, not only worked for the development of the state but provided equal opportunities to all sections. Mr. Chukka Ramaiah said that only Asif Jahi government undertook the task of implementing the welfare schemes on par with foreign countries. Medical and educational centres were set up in Hyderabad during Asif Jahi period where people avail the facilities free of cost.
Not only Muslims but non-Muslims of Telangana were also Urdu-speaking, who were ousted from government jobs after the formation of Andhra Pradesh on the basis of language. He mentioned big industrial companies like Praga tools, Allwyn, Nizam Sugar Factory which were setup under the supervision of state administration of VII Nizam to provide employment opportunities to the local people.
With the merger of Hyderabad into Indian union began the failure of state government to continue the developmental and welfare works initiated during Asif Jahi period; and it proved the beginning of injustices and discrimination to Telangana people. Separate Telangana agitation was the upshot of injustices and discrimination. Andhrite rulers toyed with the Urdu language to begin with, which was the official language of Hyderabad state.
Mr. Chukka Ramaiah told that justice Rajendra Singh Sachar Committee has clearly stated in his report that representation of Muslims in all fields is necessary to change the condition of Muslims. Hence it is the responsibility of the political party which comes to power in the proposed Telangana state, to provide opportunity for representation of Muslims in all fields including political field to alleviate inferiority complex of Muslims, so that the culture of the erstwhile Hyderabad state is restored in the Golden Telangana of the future, which was an example of national integration and communal harmony for the world.
