New Delhi: Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth, who showed solidarity with #MeToo and #TimesUp by wearing black, has praised the Critics Choice Awards for taking up the issue of treatment of women in the industry.
The 34-year-old actor congratulated the ceremony for its ”good vibe” and stimulating conversation surrounding issues such as gender inequality, sexual harassment and women’s rights.
While posting many photos from the star-studded night, the ‘Thor’ star wrote, “Great night at @criticschoice awards, a lot of much needed constructive conversations about equality, women’s rights, and a general good vibe on treating one another with a greater sense of compassion and respect, exciting year ahead. I also got to take a snap with wonder women herself @gal_gadot which my kids were beyond stoked about cheers to @hugobossfor the suit and @samanthamcmillen_stylist@hemsworthluke @taikawaititi.”
His response comes after Gal Gadot’s rousing speech at the ceremony when she dedicated her #SeeHer Award to the victims of sexual harassment.
She said, “I want to share this award with all the women and men who stand for what’s right, standing for those who can’t stand or speak for themselves. And I promise, my commitment to all of you is that I will never be silenced. And we will continue to band together to make strides uniting for equality.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Thor Ragnarok’ has spoken out about ‘Thor 4’ rumours after ‘Avengers 4’.
He said, “We gave cheers to Thor 3. But it also was like what could we do with four? We could do this and this. We were throwing ideas around.”
Hemsworth’s fifth outing as the mighty ‘Thor’ has met with huge success, as the movie currently sits on 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and has opened with an amazing USD 110 million in overseas markets.
It should be noted that Chris Hemsworth will be next seen in Anthony and Joe Russo’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ alongside Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlet Johansson and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The flick is slated to release on April 27. (ANI)
