Seemandhra Congress leaders during their first leg of campaigning in Srikakulam today made a scathing attack on former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for defying the Congress in every aspect.
Addressing a public meeting, Campaign Committee Chief and Union Minister K Chiranjeevi took serious exception to Kiran Kumar Reddy deceiving the party after enjoying all top posts. “It was totally unbecoming on part of Kiran to quit the Congress during hard times just like dumping an old age mother after taking everything from her. He flayed Kiran for defying the Congress on bifurcation and belittling the Centre for its decision, for his selfish gains.
Chiranjeevi attributed the present political crisis to the Opposition parties and Kiran Kumar Reddy equally contributed for it. “I know very well what happened in Delhi when the high command was focusing on bifurcation. When AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi offered a package for Telangana, Kiran Kumar Reddy sought more time to protect his CM’s post. Had Kiran accepted the Centre’s advice for setting up a special council for Telangana, we could have prevented the present crisis. We are here to protect the interests of the people and the party to fight the elections alone”, he added.
APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy accused Kiran of indulging in deceiving the Congress for selfish gains. Despite pressure from the Centre, Kiran dumped the party and floated a new one. This is nothing but deceiving the people of the region, who should refrain from voting in favor of “Jai Samaikyandhra Party”, he said. He took serious exception to Kiran for targeting the Congress over bifurcation decision which was taken only after all political parties nodded for it.
Anam Ramanarayana Reddy expressed serious discontent over Kiran for insulting the party high command in every aspect. He said there will be no takers for Kiran Kumar Reddy in the elections. People of Seemandhra will teach him a lesson, he warned. (NSS)
