Sabbam Hari, Anakapalli Congress MP and supporter of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that the by-election results proved that Chiranjeevi’s joining the Congress was of no use to the party.
Speaking to the media after the election results were out, he said that the by-polls have proved beyond doubt that Chiranjeevi’s campaigning would in no way help the Congress party. Referring to the victory of YSR Congress candidate Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy in Kovuru constituency in Nellore district, he said the result proved the confidence people had on Jagan. He also predicted that in all the 17 constituencies vacated by Jagan’s supporters, YSR Congress candidates would win. He said the hopes of the TDP that it would benefit because of the split in Congress votes had also evaporated in this election.
Meanwhile, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was touring the Guntur district as part of his Odarpu Yatra, has cut a cake in Krishnapuram village, celebrating the victory of Prasanna Kumar Reddy. In Pulivendula of Kadapa district, YSR Congress leaders presented a bouquet to party’s honorary president Y S Vijayamma and congratulated her. Party workers have taken out a bike rally, burst crackers and distributed sweets. (NSS)
