Union minister of state for tourism, Chiranjeevi has lashed out at the TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu and the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Speaking as chief guest at the children’s day celebrations organized by the Rajagopal Foundation here on Wednesday and later talking to the media, Chiranjeevi said that Naidu was touring on foot only to save TDP from extinction. He said he was telling all lies in his Pada Yatra and maintained that no one was believing his words. Stating that Naidu was moving earth and heaven to attract the farmers, Chiranjeevi has questioned how the farmers could forget about the treatment meted out to them when he was the Chief Minister. He said it was also strange that Naidu who made police open fire on the agitators of power tariff hike during his rule, was now talking about the power problem.
Chiranjeevi has said that justice would be done to the BC, SC, ST and minorities only through the Congress.
The union minister has dubbed the YSR Congress as a party borne from corruption. He said Jagan’s sister Sharmila was propagating lies during her pada yatra. He has claimed that the AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi thought about the poor every minute and asserted that the government was committed to making the country hut-free.
TOURIST CENTRES
When asked about MIM’s decision to withdraw support to the government, Chiranjeevi said there was no danger to the government. Replying to questions about Bhavani Island, he said he had nothing to do with it and alleged that attempts were being made to defame him on the matter.
He has said that there were several tourist centres in the state and all these needed further improvement. He said foreign tourists were showing interest in knowing about rural India and efforts should be made to highlight this aspect. He has also said that there was a vast treasure of ancient heritage in the state and if that was properly utilized to attract tourism, it would generate vast employment. (NSS)
