Chiru for consensus on Babli before meet with PM

Hyderabad, July 22: The Praja Rajyam party chief, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, has suggested that it would be better to arrive at a consensus on the Babli project, illegally constructed by the Maharashtra government, before the all-party delegation met the Prime Minister.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. K. Rosaiah, the PRP president said that it would be better if a meeting of leaders of all parties was called to know their view points on the issue, before proceeding to Delhi. He also felt that the State’s argument would have strength, if the delegation went before the Prime Minister with a consensus.

Mr Chiranjeevi, who also criticized the way the TDP delegation was treated by the Maharashtra police, urged the Chief Minister to hold the all-party meeting before July 25. He said that two representatives of each party should be given opportunity to attend and express their stand in the meeting.
