Congress MP Chiranjeevi has reportedly received communication to make himself available in the national capital during the next few days. It is learnt that the Union cabinet would be reshuffled between October 24 and 28 and Chiranjeevi would be accommodated now.
The Congress High Command has already decided to make Chiranjeevi a Union minister and assured him about this. The promise was made to the former megastar when he merged his party in Congress and later when he has saved the government from falling when it faced a no-confidence motion from the TDP.
S. Jaipal Reddy and Kishore Chandra Deo represent the State in the Union cabinet now. Daggupati Purandareswari, Panabaka Lakshmi and Pallamraju are ministers of state. Excepting Jaipal Reddy, all the rest are from the coastal region. With this, Congress High Command appears to be thinking of including two MPs from the Telangana region in the Union cabinet. Either Anjan Kumar Yadav or V Hanumanta Rao were likely to be included in the cabinet in the Telangana quota, say reports.
As SCs are to be satisfied, either Sarve Satyanarayana or Nandi Ellaiah might be accommodated, say sources. Kavuri Sambasiva Rao and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao are very senior members of the party and both are aspirants of cabinet post. Of these, Kavuri has considerable influence with the party chief Sonia Gandhi.
Reports suggest that he might be accommodated this time. (NSS)
