Chirala AE, DEE convicted, Fisheries DEE dismissed from service

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Special Judge, Nellore has convicted Devarampati Venkata Rao, Assistant Engineer and A Vijaya Paul, Deputy Executive Engineer, Drainage Sub-Division-I, Chirala Under Section 248 (2) Cr P C and sentenced them to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment and with fine of Rs 3,000 for accepting bribe. They were rrested by the ACB officials for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 25,000 from a contractor in 2006, a release from ACB said here today. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh government yesterday issued ordered dismissing Velugubantla Suryanarayana, former Executive Engineer (Fisheries), State Project Unit, Kakinada, East Godavari District from service on April 28, 2012 following his conviction by the Additional Special Judge for Anti-Corruption Bureau Cases, Visakhapatnam. A case had been registered against Suryanarayanaas in connection with possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Another case was registered against him in the year 2008 vide and it was pending in the court of Special Judge for ACB Cases, Vijayawada, the release added. UNI
