Hyderabad, April 15: Deccan Chargers recorded its first home victory in the Indian Premier League by easing past Royal Challengers Bangalore by 33 runs on Thursday.
Put into bat in the third round, Bharat Chipli struck an undefeated 61 off 35 deliveries to help Chargers post a challenging 175-5 off their 20 overs.
Bangalore was reduced to 29-4 in the seventh over and never recovered, slumping to 142-9. Only three batsmen posted double figures, while Dale Steyn and medium-pacer Manpreet Gony shared six wickets.
