Chinese sent to judicial custody

Bahraich (UP), January 31: A local court today remanded the three Chinese nationals, arrested on charges of taking photographs of vital installations, to judicial custody till February 11.

Amid tight security, the three were produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate Satya Prakash Dwivedi who remanded them to judicial custody till February 11.

The police remand of the three Chinese, one of them a woman, expired today.

On January 28, the court had fixed February four for hearing their bail pleas.

Liao Xing, Yu Dangli and Yang Liu were arrested by the SSB near Rupiyadeeh border on January 17 while taking pictures of some vital installations.

“Photographs of the SSB camp and the Indian border were found in cameras of the arrested Chinese nationals,” UP Special DGP, Law and Order, Brijlal had told reporters in Lucknow.

The police have been interrogating the three with the help of a Chinese interpreter.
