Kathmandu: Nepal’s former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has made a startling disclosure that a few months ago the K P Sharma Oli government was on the way out, but China intervened to save it in the face of India’s desire to see the Oil Government out of office. By playing the India card, Oli managed to survive, he added.
Bhattarai, who was Nepal’s 35th Prime Minister, also accused the Oli government of trying to make Nepal the center of International conflict. This conflict could well turn into a terror breeding ground.
Expressing his solidarity with the Federal Alliance’s relay hunger strike at the Khula Manch, Bhattarai on Thursday said the government should address the issues of all agitating parties in order to negate the interference by international powers.
He subtly hinted that “the government is prolonging its stay with the support of China, when India tried to change the ruling alliance”.
Bhattarai reiterated that there was no alternative to demarcation of provincial boundaries in order to address the demands of the agitating parties.
Former chief election commissioner Bhoj Raj Pokharel also expressed his solidarity with the agitation launched by the Federal Alliance.
Leaders and activists of the Federal Alliance have been staging a relay hunger strike for the past three days, demanding identity-based province in the new federal setup. (ANI)
