Chinese authorities have warned Pakistan that there’s possibility that RAW is trying to sabotage the Economic Corridor project.
A senior authority said that they have claimed that not only the rebels in Balochistan had provoked security fears for the 3,000-kilometre-long route, but it was possible that some foreign hostile intelligence agencies were also supporting the militants to fail the project, reports The Express Tribune.
He added that the Chinese intelligence agencies shared that Research and Analysis Wing ( RAW), with other hostile agencies, was at the frontline to sabotage this project.
In the meantime, a trained special security division with over 8,000 military personnel would be guarding key projects linked from Hyderabad to Karachi and Gwadar through N-10 East Bay Expressway along the coastal line.
In addition to this, an estimated 9,000 security personnel including Rangers, Levies, police, scouts would back the military to guard over 15,000 Chinese workers on this route.
According to Director Pakistan Institute of Strategic Studies Amir Rana, overall security of the corridor in near future was what was worrying China and threats such as tribal feuds, militants, insurgents, political issues, nationalist and separatists groups link directly to the corridor security.
