It was a chilly Sunday morning here and light mist enveloped the national capital affecting some trains, officials said.
An official of the Northern Railway said that only three trains from Delhi were disturbed by the mist and had to be rescheduled, while 28 trains arriving from other parts of north India that are witnessing dense fog were running late.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the visibility at 8.30 a.m. was 400 metres.
Saturday’s maximum temperature at 21 degrees Celsius was the coldest Delhi has experienced so far, though Sunday’s maximum temperature is expected to drop to 18 degrees Celsius, officials said.
“The afternoon will be cloudy and there will be fog in the evening. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 18 degrees Celsius,” said an IMD official.
Sunday’s minimum temperature settled four notches above the season’s average at 12 degrees Celsius.
Saturday’s minimum temperature too was recorded four notches above the season’s average at 12.5 degrees Celsius.
