Chilli futures dip on sluggish demand

New Delhi, April 23: In restricted activity, chilli prices declined by Rs 16 or 0.34 per cent to Rs 4,740 per quintal in futures trading today owing to slackness in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for June contract declined Rs 16, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 4,740 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,510 lots.

However, the spice for delivery in July held steady at Rs 4,884 per quintal. Marketmen said, sluggish demand against adequate stocks position mainly led to a decline in chilli futures prices.
