Cape Town: Cape police have opened a probe into the death of five children aged between three and seven-years-old respectively were found dead inside a freezer.
The incident happened on Tuesday evening in the South African agricultural town of Kakamas, Northern Cape.
The deceased were cousins.
“It is alleged that on 19 January 2016 at about 18:00, the grandmother of the children found them all suffocated inside an old freezer in their yard,” said police.
“It is believed the freezer locked accidentally while the kids were playing inside it.”
