Children from JK meet President Pratibha Patil

New Delhi, September 17: It was a welcome change for 28 children from Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, many of whom had travelled outside their district for the first time in their life, as they met President Pratibha Patil here today. The President, who met the students, who are on a excursion trip and have already visited Agra and Jaipur as part of Operation Sadhbhavna organised by the Dah division of the Indian army, said it was good that children went around other parts of the country and met different people.

“You have to grow and make the country grow with you. The whole country loves you and looks up to you,” she said addressing the students.

The children were happy at having visited the two cities and seen historic monuments. Some of them were pleased at having got to watch their stars on the big screen.

“I watched ”Love Aj Kal” starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika at a big theatre in Jaipur. Even though my favourite actor is Salman Khan, watching a movie other than in my own house for the first time was a very good experience.

The actors look so big on the screen,” Imtiaz Hussain, a class seventh student of Army school in Mendhar Tehsil of the district said. Asked what was best part of the trip besides watching the movie for the first time, Wasim Khan another student said, “Of course coming to the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Bhavan is very big. The gardens and the rooms are beautiful.
