Child trafficking on the rise in Hyderabad

Poverty, deprivation and bad habits drive poor parents who are indulged in bad habits to sell their children to fulfill their evil desires. A dangerous trend to sell the innocent children is on the rise in Hyderabad. A recent example of this is, a vegetable vendor Jangaiah and his wife have bought two boys Sameer (10) and Amir (13) and have put them to work and vegetable sellers. The duo has been bought by the couple from a beggar. But they told that they had adopted the children as they didn’t have their own children. But our correspondent smelled the rat due to wife’s contradictory statements and it turned out that the couple has 2 own children also.

Though the couple claims that they have adopted the children and keep them as their own kids, if their claim was true they would have admitted the children in school instead of employing them in the work as child labours.

Most of the beggars who are either drug addicts or indulge in other evils, sell their children to fulfill their desires. They see the children as a barrier in their bad habits. Sometimes they leave their children somewhere or sell them to others.

Women and children welfare department and labour department must look into the matter and save thousands of Amirs and Sameers from the exploitation of people like Jangaiah.
