Chief Secretary reviews Metro Rail works

Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma conducted Special Task Force (STF) meeting on Saturday and reviewed the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail project.

HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy made a detailed presentation on the Action Taken Report on the decisions of the earlier STF meeting. The Chief Secretary reviewed the status of 304 properties (230 private and 74 Government Vested Municipal properties – GVM). He expressed his satisfaction on the progress of acquisition since 29 properties have been dismantled, for 60 private properties awards have been completed and for 70 GVM properties, consents have been received, from the last STF meeting.

While updating the progress of Alugaddabavi RuB, NVS Reddy informed the Chief Secretary about the opening of the newly constructed RuB for traffic towards Mettuguda side. He appreciated this and advised the L&TMRHL to immediately take up pillar construction on both sides of Alugaddabavi ROB.

The Chief Secretary was briefed about the decisions taken during the joint inspections of MD, HMR, Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) and senior engineers of L&TMRHL. He was also briefed about the traffic clearances given in various critical stretches duly taking the required road improvement works under the joint supervision of traffic police and HMR.

Dr Rajiv Sharma instructed traffic police to expedite permissions for taking up the construction of metro viaduct across the important heavy traffic crossroads at Khairatabad and Mozamjahi Market junctions, duly making the required alternate arrangements for smooth flow of traffic.
