Chief Judge of AP High Court sworn-in by Gov

Vijayawada: The swearing-in ceremony of Andhra Pradesh High Court judges was held at Indira Gandhi stadium here today. The senior most judge Justice Praveen Kumar was sworn-in as the first Chief Justice of the newly formed High Court. Governor ESL Narasimhan administered the oath of office to the Chief Justice.

Later, the Chief Justice administered oath of office to other appointed High Court judges. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, judge of Supreme Court Justice NV Ramana and others took part in the swearing-in ceremony. The State government has made all the arrangements for the functioning of the high court. The camp office of the Chief Minister would be used as the temporary premises to run the high court. The State government authorities set up eight court halls at the camp office. Another court hall of the apex court has been set up at the R&B office located on the MG road in the city.
