Chided SSC student jumps from first floor

Hyderabad, February 10: A class X student of a private school at Narapally jumped from the first floor of his school today after being chided by his teacher. Luckily, the boy escaped with minor injuries.

The incident happened in Nalla Malla Reddy school located on the outskirts of the city. Medipally police said the boy, Vijay Kumar, was caught disturbing other students while the teacher was taking the class.

“Vijay Kumar and another student, Bhanu Prasad, were found laughing about some graffiti written on the school bench by the class teacher, Sridhar Reddy. The teacher chided Vijay Kumar for disturbing the class,’’ police said.

Disturbed over this, Vijay Kumar walked out of the classroom and jumped from the first floor. He was shifted to a nearby hospital and found to have suffered a hairline fracture on the left leg.

The issue was immediately taken to the notice of Vijay Kumar’s family. The boy’s father, Sambaiah, who works as a constable in the LB Nagar police station, however, did not lodge any complaint with the police after the school management warned the teacher not to chide students.
