Chidambaram’s son Karthi may sue Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s son Karthi Chidambaram has said that he is likely to consider suingJanata Party chief Subramanian Swamy over allegations that he and his firm Advantage earned Rs.26 lakhs from a deal with Aircel in 2006.

According to reports, Karthi Chidambaram’s chartered accountant K.Balachandran has sent a legal notice to Swamy.
Swamy has alleged that Advantage made Rs 26 lakh out of a deal with telecom company Aircel, before its takeover by Maxis. Swamy alleged that the transaction occurred when Chidambaram was the country’s Finance Minister.

He further said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) could not conduct a fair investigation into the case while Chidambaram was the Union Home Minister.

Congress sources said that the amount in question was a management consultancy fee, and that Advantage had no stake in Aircel. The party also said that Karthi Chidambaram entered the company in 2009 and was not a stake holder in 2006. (ANI)
