Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday rebuted Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s claims that the value of Rupee didn’t fall against the dollar during the NDA regime.
Taking on Modi, the Union Minister said that Rupee fell from 39 to 43 against US dollar between 1998 and 1999.
Modi has been continuously attacking the Congress-led government by raking up issues like decline in the value of the rupee, rising inflation in his election rally speeches.
