(ANI): Finance Minister P. Chidambaram would be leaving for the United States of America on Wednesday to participate Plenary Meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Development Committee Meeting of the World Bank.
Chidambaram, who is on a one-week tour to the US, is also likely to hold bilateral meetings with Hiroshi Watanabe, CEO of Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC), Joe Hockey, New Australian Treasurer, Yair Lapid, Finance Minister of Israel and John Osborne, Chancellor of UK Exchequer among others on the sidelines of IMF, World Bank Meetings.
He would also participate and interact in a function at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Chidambaram is also likely to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Switzerland and New Zealand during his stay in Washington DC.
He would be the Chief Guest at the IDFC event organized to mark the First Closing of IDFC’s Infrastructure Fund Meeting, and would also participate in an Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL).
Chidambaram would also attend the Indo- US Economic and Financial Partnership Dialogue before departing for San Francisco on October 13 during the second leg of his visit.
During his stay in San Francisco , Chidambaram would interact with the investors and highlight India as a highly attractive destination for investment.
Chidambaram would be returning to India on October 16. (ANI)
