Chhattisgarh orders probe into IAS officer’s conduct

Raipur, February 12: Chhattisgarh government has ordered a probe into allegations that an IAS officer misbehaved with a woman officer.

Official sources said today that the state has decided to initiate probe into the matter involving IAS officer and former collector of Kanker district Avinash Champavat who allegedly misbehaved with a lady officer working in the same district.

A committee headed by a senior lady officer would conduct inquiry into the alleged incident.

Sources said, a lady officer working in Kanker district had recently alleged that Champavat had misbehaved with her.

When she objected to his behaviour, the collector started creating lot of problems for her, she alleged.

The woman had then complained to the top officers in the government and also informed Chief Minister Raman Singh.

Sources said after the complaint was made to the chief minister, Champavat was removed from his post.
