Raipur, May 18: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today said there was a need for a fresh strategy to deal with Naxals who were targeting innocent people in the state as they were unable to put up with the pressure exerted by security forces.
Singh, who flew down to Sukma in a helicopter with Governor Shekhar Dutt, Home Minister Nanki Ram Kanwar and state DGP Vishwa Ranjan, asserted that Naxals would never succeed in breaking down the morale of security forces and people.
He visited the injured in the hospital at Sukma and paid tribute to the 15 Special Police Officers (SPOs) killed in an IED blast in Dantewada yesterday.
The Naxals blew up a bus using a landmine in Dantewada, killing 31 passengers, including 15 SPOs.
Singh told reporters that he would soon talk to Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to revisit the anti-Naxal strategy.
