Preparation is in full swing by the inmates of the Cherlapalli Prison in Hyderabad to set up stall at the All India Industrial Exhibition, Nampally. The prison stall is being set up at Numaish since 1938. The stall displays the handicrafts and savouries made by jail inmates and are made available at reasonable prices.
9 prisoners undergoing life imprisonment are busy in setting up the stall. The stall is being installed under the supervision of Syed Murtaza Mehdi instructor central jail Cherlapalli jail while Syed Yousuf Shah Quadri, Inayatullah and DP Sharma are deployed to keep watch on prisoners.
Such opportunities would help jailed inmates to enhance their creative talent and potential, and make them self reliant. The items will include handicrafts, savouries, bed sheets, soaps and towels. The profit earned from their sale would be used to rehabilitate the inmates.
