Chennai, July 11: Organisers of the GiveLife Chennai International Marathon scheduled to be held on Madras Day here Aug 22 are expecting a record turnout.
The event, organised by non profit organisation Tamil Maiyam and Goodwill Communications Ltd, will see participation from African and European runners.
“There will be three events — half marathon (21.09 km), a city run (7km) and a wheelchair run for men and women. The prize for the half marathon will be Rs.500,000 for the winner, Rs.300,000 for the runners-up and Rs.200,000 for the third place,” said Jegath Gaspar Raj, managing director, Goodwill Communications.
