New Delhi: The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has deputed a high level inter-ministerial delegation and industry representatives to Tamil Nadu to assess the impact of floods on industry.
“DIPP’s High Level Central delegation will device support mechanism for speedy and quick revival of TN industries affected by #ChennaiFloods,” DIPP said in tweets.
Recent floods in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have caused injury and loss of lives on a big scale.
Auto majors Hyundai, Ford and Renault have temporarily suspended operations at their plants in Chennai due to floods.
Hyundai’s Chennai plant has a capacity to produce around 6.8 lakh vehicles annually.
Ford India too has suspended operations at its Chennai plant.
