Hyderabad, April 12: A cheating case has been registered against Tollywood producer M Sudhakar and the manager of a film processing lab by the Jubilee Hills police following court directions on a petition filed by a movie financier that Sudhakar ‘cheated’ him of Rs 40 lakh.
Jubilee Hills police said Sudhakar took Rs 40 lakh finance from a film financier, Vijay Sekhar of Chikkadpally, in 2010, to produce a move, ‘Sevakudu.’ While giving the debt, Vijay Sekhar insisted that Sudhakar should not release the movie without his consent.
In violation of the contract, Sudhakar, in association with Gemini Labs manager, Srinivas, secured another Rs 65 lakh from another financier allegedly after undergoing a similar agreement like he did with the former one.
Terming the contract with the second financier as a breach of contract, Vijay approached the court which directed the Jubilee Hills police to register a case against the film producer and the film processing lab management.
