Chavan leaves for U.S

Mumbai, June 12: Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan today left for the United States to study the infrastructure and transport system there.

A high-level team of senior officials is accompanying him in the tour aimed at understanding civic planning, low cost housing, development of airports and speedy transportation.

Mr. Chavan will also visit Singapore and Malaysia to understand the process of desalination of water and mode of transportation there.

State Transport Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Chief Secretary J. P. Dange and senior officials were present at the airport on the occasion.
