Charminar Temple- No permission to change plastic roof

Dept. of Archeology dismissed the petition submitted by Bhagya Lakshmi Trust for changing the plastic roof of the illegal structure adjacent to Charminar. The petition was submitted to Archeological Survey of India on 21st June for changing Trampoline and also to change the board, which has become week. Ms. Sisikala, Trustee of the temple submitted the petition.

Superintendent of Archeological Survey of India considered this petition in the light of the court orders and rejected it on 9th July. He also sends the copy of his orders to Charminar Police Station. In his orders he clearly mentioned that since the case if pending in the court in which court had given orders on 30th October 2012 to maintain status quo. In view of these orders there is no scope for changing anything. He enclosed petition number 366/2012 submitted in the High Court along with the orders in which it has been clearly stated that no repair works or construction work could be undertaken.

It may be noted that last year the Law and Order situation was tense in the city. Now that elections are nearing, it seems that activities to divide the citizens on communal lines have started by promoting such activities and by exploiting the temple issue. Despite court orders, it seems that attempts are being made to disrupt the communal harmony and that peaceful atmosphere of the city.
