The number of women beggars clad in burqa, who narrate false tales of their agony, is on the rise in the city.
A burqa clad woman was standing before the Judi mosque at King Kothi with a photo and an invitation card in her hands. She was seeking alms claiming that she has to get her daughter married. When our correspondent asked her address assuring financial aid she escaped from the scene.
After a few days our correspondent found another such woman who also had a photo and an invitation card in her hands. The correspondent asked the same question to her. She gathered courage and told that she resides at Fatima Nagar locality of Nawab sahib Kunta. Our correspondent reached Fatima Nagar to unravel the truth behind the story and asked her address at a pan shop. The owner of the pan shop listened to the whole story and told that the details can be had from a barber’s shop. The correspondent went to the barber’s shop. The barber saw the correspondent interrogatively from head to toe and said “why are you wasting your time. Go back to your place; there are 4 to 5 houses in this locality where the women fool the people going around the city. The photos the women roam with are not their daughters’ but are of their own youth. When the correspondent insisted, the barber showed the way to the woman’s house which he was searching for.
It was a small locality of beggars. Government had inhabited the locality by constructing houses on 35 sqyd per head. An old handicapped man was sitting inside the house watching TV. Tata sky dish antenna was setup at the roof of the house. When the correspondent asked him regarding the story told by the woman it was revealed that the story was false and fabricated. The woman was not at home surely she might have gone to any mosque of the city and was fooling people with her false tale.
It should not be out of place to mention here that 30 factories have been established in Chandulal Baradari colony where large number of Muslim women earn bread for their family working from 9 to 5 daily. They get 120 to 150 rupees daily.
Readers are requested not to encourage such burqa clad beggar women who fool them with their false tales and do injustice to the deserving people and deprive them of their right.
