Chargesheet filed in Barkas attack case

Hyderabad, July 01: Central Crime Station (CCS) sleuths filed a chargesheet in the Akbaruddin attack case on Thursday. The special team of CCS headed by investigating officer ACP Maddipati Srinivasa Rao filed the charges before the XII additional metropolitan magistrate, a day before the mandatory period comes to an end.

In the 40-page chargesheet, CCS sleuths named 15 persons as accused and framed charges against 14 persons. One of the accused, Ibrahim Bin Younus, was killed when gunman Jani opened fire to rescue MLA Akbaruddin from the attackers.

While Mohammed Bin Omer Yafai alias Mohammed Pahelwan, his elder brother Younus Bin Omer Yafai were named as the main conspirators, remaining accused were described as procurers of deadly weapons and actual participants in the attack.

The chargesheet was attached with 240 pages of supplementary evidence in the form of FSL reports and recorded statements of eyewitnesses. All the accused are currently in judicial custody, while Akbaruddin is recuperating from injuries at his home in Banjara Hills.
