Lucknow: A chargesheet has been filed against former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid over his remark on Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. While campaigning in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Khurshid had called himself ‘baap’ (father) of UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
Police has filed a chargesheet after booking Salman Khurshid for what they called using objectionable language against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
As reported by India Today, BJP worker Anoop Mishra had registered an FIR in April, 2019 against Salman Khurshid at Kotwali Police Station in Farrukhabad for calling himself ‘baap’ (father) of UP CM Yogi Adityanath at an event during campaigning in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
In a written complaint to police, the BJP worker had mentioned the Congress leader had tried to hurt the sentiments of Hindus, by using derogatory words against the UP chief minister who was also a prominent seer.
The Superintendent of Police (SP), Farrukhabad, Anil Mishra confirmed that Khurshid was booked for making a derogatory statement against the UP CM during the Lok Sabha election campaign and chargesheet has been submitted at a local court after completing the investigation in the case.
