Change rigid stand on jr doctors strike: KCR to Govt

Hyderabad, February 01 (INN): Telangana Rahtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday demanded that the state government make all out efforts to meet the genuine demands of the striking junior doctors.

Talking to media persons while expressing solidarity with their agitation at Gandhi Hospital here, whose strike entered the ninth day today, K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the government should relent from it stubborn attitude and convene a meeting with junior doctors to resolve their demands in a cordial atmosphere.

He urged the government to take steps for increasing the junior doctors’ stipend on par with other states and make efforts for fulfilling other demands. He said the government, which was showing interest in increasing salaries of Ministers and MLAs, failed to hike the junior doctors’ stipend, who were working to protect people’s health.

Taking serious note of the government threatening the junior doctors with imposition of ESMA, he warned the government of serious consequences if it failed to resolve the issue.

He demanded the government to convene an all-party meeting to resolve the issue immediately. (INN)
