CHANGE IFTAR VENUE, SHABBIR URGES KCR

Congress MLC and former minister Mohd Shabbir Ali today welcomed the decision of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao to host Iftar party on the occasion of Ramzan festival.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature party office here, Shabbir Ali asked the Chief Minister to shift the Iftaar venue to either Nizam College Grounds or LB Stadium or any other central location in Hyderabad rather than conducting it at Hitec City. He said Ramzan is known as a secular festival that strengthens bond between Hindus and Muslims. The festival is not just meant for eating food prepared specially on the occasion, but to share it with among all and exchange pleasantries, he observed. Those offer prayers and join Iftar cannot make it to Hitec City, he said and appealed to KCR to change its venue. He also appealed to the CM to intervene into GHMC workers’ strike and sort out their problems.

Lest the garbage piled up in the twin cities may spread viral diseases, he cautioned. (NSS)
