“Many Telugu Desam leaders, including AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, allegedly converted their black money into land assets on receiving prior information about demonetization of big currency notes in the country”.
This charge was levelled by YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana on Friday while addressing the media about the hardships being faced by the farmers, small traders and daily wage earners due to crash crunch in the wake of demonetization. According to him, Naidu being an ally of the BJP was privy to the “leak” regarding the move to demonetize Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes. With the advance information, Chandrababu Naidu and his close associates had invested huge amounts of ill-gotten money to purchase lands, he charged.
Botcha asserted that the very fact that Chandrababu Naidu was paying Rs 10 lakh per day as fee to his Counsel representing him in the cash-for-vote case while claiming his wealth to be only Rs 50 lakh amply proved the amount of black money stashed by him. And the joke of it, all is that Chandrababu Naidu was claiming that only at his behest, the Prime Minister had demonetized the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, he quipped. (NSS)
