Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu visited the temple of Goddess Kanaka Durga atop Indrakeeladri here and presented silk clothes to the presiding deity on auspicious occasion of ‘Moola Nakshatram’.
Chandrababu Naidu carried the silk robes on his head and stepped into the sanctum sanctorum and presented the holy clothes to the goddess. The Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife Bhuvaneswari.
Temple Executive Officer Surya Kumari and priests accorded a traditional welcome to the Chief Minister couple at the temple. The couple performed puja and offered prayers to goddess Kanaka Durga, Who appeared as Goddess Saraswathi.
Talking to mediapersons later, the Chief Minister said some disgruntled people have been creating hurdles in the development of the State. He said there was no dearth of funds for the temple and with the blessings of Goddess Kanaka Durga. The State was on the path of monumental development, Naidu said.
He also said he prayed the goddess to help in making Amaravati as knowledge and education hub. He said he prayed the to goddess to remove all the hurdles in the construction of the Polavaram project across the river Godavari. (NSS)
