Chandrababu orders development of tribal areas, tribals

For faster development of tribal areas and tribal communities and to improve their health standards, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today ordered supply of mineral water to every household in the tribal areas besides meeting nutrition requirements of the tribal communities.

         

The Chief Minister said a special drive will be taken up to provide safe drinking water, distribution of nutritious food, health and education facilities and improving road connectivity. Besides, the Chief Minister called for robust broadband connectivity in rural areas for which he asked the officials to make use of funds from Rs 50 to 100 crore.

Chandrababu Naidu said awareness must be spread among the tribal people on the usage of cell phones and that a plan should be made to increase the relationship of the tribes with the outside world. He asked the officials to work out a plan where the services of the DWCRA groups can be utilised in the distribution of clean drinking water and nutritious food. To prevent malaria in tribal areas, the Chief Minister directed the officials to plant Citronella grass and other varieties to control mosquito growth. The Chief Minister called for immediate filling of vacant posts in all the health centers in the tribal-dominated districts and asked the officials to conduct walk-in interviews for the same.

            The Chief Minister said special incentives would be provided to doctors and superspecialists, who work in the agency areas and there was a need to improve the motivation levels among them. A “Special drive will be taken up to provide nutritious food, clean drinking water, better health facilities, employment opportunities and to enhance communication in tribal areas,” the CM stressed.    (NSS)
