Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will visit 10 districts during the Janamabhoomi festival.
The state government is organising a ten-day Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru (our village) from January 2.
“Janmabhoomi concept is an inspiration. We started this programme in the erstwhile united state of Andhra Pradesh. Involving people with government is its uniqueness. Post bifurcation, we started Janmabhoomi in October 2014 and organised it four times. Now we will be conducting it for the fifth time in January,” Naidu said while addressing a press conference.
He said that this time it is being organised at the auspicious time of Sankranti.
“We want to celebrate Janmabhoomi as part of that festival. Sankranti is a festival of Sun God. So, we will start “Surya Aradhana” (praying Sun God) at that time. We are going to held Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru (our village) for 10 days,” Naidu said.
The chief minister said that complaints, grievances and requests will be resolved during this mass contact programme.
“Every day at 2.30 pm, all the villagers assemble at a common place. I will be at one place, set the agenda for the day. Discussion on that subject will continue. During the 10 days, I will be in 10 districts and hold meetings from each village. In total 1,75,000 gram sabha meetings will be held,” Naidu said.
He added that the 10-day long Janmabhoomi programme will end with ‘fostering happiness’.
Many competitions will be held during those 10 days. Evening cultural programmes, sports activities and food festival will also be held.
“In all villages, government officers will be involved. The events will be recorded, and published as a book,” Naidu said.
Talking about other priorities, Naidu said his government is committed to reduce pollution in the state.
“Soon, solar power will dominate power sector as we are taking measures in that regard. Air quality will be checked up across the state. We will take all steps to reduce pollution,” Naidu said.
The chief minister also informed that Andhra Pradesh is promoting organic agriculture
“Organic agriculture is being done in 1.50 lakh acres. It is highest in the world. Once upon a time AP and Punjab were highest consumers of chemical fertilizers. Now in AP, chemical fertilizer consumption is being reduced at a fast pace,” Naidu said.
He added that government is working to improve health, food, sanitation sectors. (ANI)
