Chandrababu Naidu meets PM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed displeasure over the Centre not granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister is said to have conveyed the Prime Minister that the denial of SCS to AP would have a negative impact on TD and the BJP in the state.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the Prime Minister, Chandrababu Naidu said that he had pointed out to Modi that confidence-building was very important for those at the helm of power. If the SCS issue was further delayed, both the BJP and the TDP would stand to lose heavily in the state. He said that the Prime Minister assured him that he would be taking a decision on the contentious issue soon after the monsoon session was over. (INN)
