Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today announced to give Rs 50 lakhs to Kidambi Srikanth for winning Australian Open Super Series Badminton.
Naidu praised while felicitating Srikanth at Tummalapally Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. The Chief Minister announced to offer a house site and also a Group-I post to Srikanth and Rs 15 lakhs to his coach Pullela Gopichand. Naidu also played Badminton with Srikanth and had a brief talk.
Speaking later, the Chief Minister called upon the students and youth to compete among themselves to settle in life. Besides getting jobs through education the youth can settle in the life by playing sports at national and international level he said. The government will recognize such sportsmen who bring name and fame to the state Naidu averred. Though there are some norms coming in the way I am giving Srikanth a Group I post, he said. (NSS)
