Chandigarh hotels, cinemas asked to install CCTV cameras

Chandigarh, December 09: The Chandigarh administration has asked all hotels and restaurants here to install CCTV cameras, an official said Wednesday.

“As a measure of safety and security of general public, the administration has issued directions for the installation of CCTV cameras in all hotels, restaurants, guest-houses, cinemas and multiplexes. CCTV cameras should cover entry, exit, reception and parking areas and they have to keep the recording of 30 days,” said a union territory spokesperson said.

Recently many incidents of scuffle, firing and stabbing during late hours have been reported from the city’s restaurants.
