Chandigarh, August 15: Spelling out an ambitious roadmap for the ‘inclusive growth’ of the region with Chandigarh as the Hub of rapid progress, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator General (retd.) S F Rodrigues today called upon the people to work together for building a New Resurgent India, with a focused attention on making the City number one in all respects.
“Chandigarh is a truly dynamic City, with a success story of fast development, with GSDP growth rate of 17 per cent to 19 per cent which has been achieved through public partnerships and inclusiveness, strictly adhering to the rule of law and guiding principle of good governance”, he said addressing an impressive State Level Function at Parade Ground here to mark the 62nd Anniversary of Independence.
He unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took the salute from an impressive march past.
General Rodrigues paid rich tribute to the martyrs, freedom fighters and recalled their sacrifices for freedom of the Country.
He also expressed his solidarity and gratitude to the Armed Forces, who are continually protecting the unity, integrity, sovereignty and the borders of our country.
Giving a detailed account of the tempo of development in recent years, General Rodrigues said that the Administration has adopted a proactive approach in every field of endeavour and acted as a facilitator and catalyst for change.
