Chandi Yagnam is being conducted on personal expenses: KCR

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Friday claimed that he was conducting ‘Chandi Yagnam’ purely on personal expenses.

Addressing a press conference, along with famous Pandits and Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy at his farm house in Yerravelli of Medak district, the Chief Minister said he had vowed about four years ago to conduct Chandi Yagnam if Telangana State is formed. Therefore, he said he was conducting the Chandi Yagnam from 23rd to 27th December at a grand scale. He claimed that he was bearing the entire cost of nearly Rs. 6-7 Crore for Yagnam and not a single rupee of State Government was being used for the event.

KCR informed that President of India Pranab Mukherjee, Union Ministers M. Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatraya, Supreme Court Chief Justice Chalemeshwar, Justice Ramana, Governors ESL Narasimhan, K. Rosaiah and Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrashekar Rao and other personalities would participate in the Yagnam.

The Chief Minister said everyone was invited for the Yagnam and arrangements are being made to provide food and prasadam for 50,000 people every day. He said nearly 1500 Pandits would perform the Yagnam and this would be the biggest Yagnam of the country held so far. (INN)
