Hyderabad, August 29: (Siasat News) People will be wonderstruck when they see the beautiful Mosque on the top of Charminar. It is regretful that prayers are not offered at this place. There is a historical evidence that Charminar is a Mosque.
When the fifth ruler of Qutub Shahi dynasty Sultan Mohammed Qutub Shah shifted the capital of his kingdom from Golconda to Hyderabad, the city was struck by plague. The ruler prayed to God to protect the people from plague. He promised that if plague is eradicated, he would construct a Mosque. The prayer was accepted and plague vanished. The King started its construction in 1590 which cost Rs. 19 lakh. The Mosque is spacious and 250 person can offer prayer in it at a time.
