Dubai: Consul General of India in Dubai, Vipul introduced same-day issuance of tatkal passport. This was disclosed on the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
The service can be availed only at the office of BLS International at Al Khaleej Centre in Bur Dubai, he added.
It may be mentioned that till now, under the tatkal, renewal of passport used to take 24 hours.
In the past year, the consulate had issued over 200000 passports, more than 2500 emergency certificates.
On the occasion, new Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Pavan Kapoor along with Vipul felicitated former Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardees and six students.
