CFI condemns telecast of faux video

Campus Front of India (CFI) has condemned the telecast of faux video by television channels and also said that even the media houses have become prey to fascist powers.

While addressing a press meet, the General Secretary of CFI, Karnataka, Mr. Wasim Shareef refuted the allegation of raising anti-national slogans by CFI cadres during ‘Anti-Fascist’ day held three months ago. He said that people are being fooled through such fake videos.

“CFI has no knowledge as to, from where that video was retrieved and who had given that video to the media houses. Did media houses check the genuinity before telecasting the video? Whether the video was sent to forensic lab to analyze the same before telecasting? Hence, is the responsibility of the media houses to let us know the source of this video,” he said.

“Video telecasted by the media houses for few seconds shows that policemen and troops were also part of this rally. If the allegation of anti national slogan during the rally was true, why did they allow it to happen?” he said.

The police have filed fake cases on CFI students but never declared about the anti – national slogans in its FIR, which is evident enough that there were no such incident that took place, he further added.

“Anti-fascist day programme was held on January 30, but no media or police department made any noise about the same until now. Why is it that an issue is made now, almost after 3 months? ‘Anti Fascist day’ was an attempt from CFI to bring awareness among the youths and students about the communalization and its adverse effects on our society. It was a fight against communal ideologies,” he said. He urged all the media houses to check the genuinity of the content before telecasting or printing.
