New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that this century belonged to India and Africa as both have two-third of the population under 35 years of age.
“As we look to the future, there is something precious that unites us. It is our youth; two-third of Indian and African population is under the age of 35. And, if the future belongs to the youth, then this century is ours to shape and build,” Prime Minister Modi said in his address to the leaders at the India Africa Forum Summit.
“We have lived in the long shadow of colonialism. We have fought for our liberty and dignity,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi also said the meeting of the leaders of both sides was not just a meeting of India and Africa rather ‘the dreams of one-third of humanity have come together under one roof’.
“The heartbeats of 1.25 billion Indians and 1.25 billion Africans are in rhythm,” he added. (ANI)
